Before the day
Meg & Gav were just total dreamboats to work with to be honest. The whole process leading up to their wedding at Perriswood, Gower in Swansea gave me the impression the day itself would be just as laid back and fun as they were!
Meg & Gav had their pre-wedding photography session at Three Cliffs Bay, Swansea, and opted to go for a beautiful summer evening, just before the sunset which was just a great laugh, and a great chance to have a chat about their plans and get some ideas going!
The Wedding
As expected, the wedding day itself was just incredible. As Meg & Gav got the legalities done the day before, it meant the wedding could be exactly as they envisioned it without any of the traditional formalities. Less stuffiness, more real fun was the feeling they were going for, and absolutely achieved!!
I joined Gavin and the boys for some groom preparations photography in Mumbles, which to be honest mainly involved a bloody awesome French Boules tournament. What a laugh. What a boule. From there, I headed to join Meg and her bridesmaids for bridal preparations. This was just as chilled (although no boules in sight, - come on girls, step it up). Only joking!
I then headed to the venue, the wonderful Perriswood! This was my first time at this venue and hopefully not my last, it suited the relaxed wedding vibe absolutely perfectly! The marquee was adorned with handmade bunting, the most incredible bouquets of flowers and so many extra details based on Meg & Gav’s many travels around the world together.
Like I said, as the legalities were out of the way it meant that a close friend could conduct the ceremony, and could make it exactly what they wanted. It was so so refreshing to hear words specifically about this lovely couple, to have a sing song which everyone got involved in, and ultimately celebrate this marriage in a totally unique way without standardised scripts, it was genuinely so lovely to witness!
We took a short drive up Cefn Bryn, overlooking Swansea and Gower for some relaxed wedding couple portraits which they totally smashed, now being pros after their pre-wedding session! We were welcomed back to a HUGE tunnel of confetti, followed by some family and group photographs in the sun. The evening reception involved some heartfelt and emotional speeches, including a joint speech from Meg & Gav! To end the night, as you can see below, was one of the busiest and most energetic dance floors EVER. So many hair flips and so much colour.
I’d like to say another massive thanks to Meg & Gav for letting me join them as their Swansea wedding photographer! I hope you enjoy some highlights below!
